Synopsis

Averi Rain has always been
in love with one man.

 

 The problem is he’s always loved everyone else.

 

 Ian O’Neal has been known for his reputation with the ladies and has
never really cared about any of them for longer than a one-night stand.
He’s known Averi since they were both in high school and had always
harmlessly flirted with her, never really seeing her for the woman she’s
become. 

 

Forced to spend more time together to help their friend, he begins to
see how sweet and funny she is, not to mention having curves in all the
right places, and he sets out to win her heart. Unfortunately for Ian, a
handsome fireman has Averi in his sights and now, for the first time,
Ian has to compete for her affections.

 

 A series of events throws Averi and Ian together giving Averi a glimpse
of the man Ian really is and she likes what she sees, but she also
can’t bear the thought of having her heart broken when he moves on to
the next conquest. 

 

Will Averi settle for the stability Alex can offer or will she give her
heart to the one man who can break it for good?

 

Can Ian prove to her that he’s worthy of her love or will the new man
in her life steal the future he’s set his sights on? 

 

Will Ian find love for the first time or will he be forever…

I’m such a blog slacker :)

Well, it’s 2014 and I’m just getting around to my first blog post of the year in mid-January.   One thing that has been keeping me busy has been my latest WIP “Chasing Rain”.  It’s been a difficult time to write with all the holiday goings-on but now that the new year has begun, I’ve been buckling down and am about 75% finished.  I was aiming for an end of January release but seeing as how I have to still have it beta-read and edited, it may be early February before I get it out to you.  I’m also excited about this year for all the book signings/appearances I have planned (see Appearances tab).  One of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had since my first book published was meeting all the wonderful new readers and making tons of new friends.  What started out as a way to fulfill a dream to be an author turned into so much more.  So…that being said, I hope I’ll get to meet some new friends in person this year, hang out with some amazing authors and see some places I’ve never seen before.  I’m following my dreams and as it turns out, they’re way more exciting than I thought they’d ever be!!!  Elizabeth xx

Cover news!

I’m excited to say that I’ve gotten my cover for “Secrets of a Hart” finished and ready to go. I’m working on the book and now, after seeing the finished cover, I feel inspired even more with the story.

Working on this book has really tested me since I am going in a totally different direction with this book(s). You become so comfortable in a series and with the way the characters talk and interact that you have to force yourself to change gears completely and mix it up. I’ve read books where it felt like it was the same story in every book the author wrote, only the names had been changed. I realize that I have a certain style of writing and that will never change but I also am challenging myself to make the readers see a different side of me with the character and story choices I’ve made. I may lose some who LOVED the first books and gain some who LOVE these or I may be blessed and have everyone LOVE it…

Regardless, at the end of the day, if my story feels good to me, then I’ve accomplished what I wanted and the rest is just gravy, so to speak. I’ve seen authors change books to make them more marketable to the masses at the risk of losing the core of their story and I don’t want to do that. I want it to be like I’ve seen it in my head…and hopefully you, the readers, will like it…maybe even love it.

I’m planning a late August/early September goal date for release and I’m on track for that now. In the meantime, if you haven’t read my Design Series, please give them a chance. I’m very proud of them and hope you’ll enjoy as much as the readers who’ve sent me e-mails and messages to tell me how much they liked them.

I’m a big fangirl!

Okay, so I went to Book Bash in Orlando and all I can say is WOW!

It started out in the lobby of the hotel when we checked in. We saw authors milling around and several checking in, one of whom was Jacinda Wilder and her husband. We volunteered to help Ana Ivies pack swag bags in her room. The next morning, we went to Book Bash and joined the throngs of book fans eager to get the autographs of their favorite authors.

My first signing was the author of Rock the Heart Michelle Valentine

Next on my list was the author of Devoured Emily Snow

I enjoyed chatting with her and later saw and spoke with her at Crave and Angstfest. She’s a sweetheart!

I then made my way around to see Laura Kaye

I was so thrilled to run into a member of my own street team, Esther, and was so tickled to sign a shirt for her and for her friend 🙂

Working with Laura, all the way from California, was the author of Love Realized Melanie Codina

Melanie and I are very close and she even mentioned me in the dedication of her book. She was gracious enough to sign her book for me in exchange for a copy of mine 😉

I then spotted an author, Nicole Edwards

She is very special to a mutual friend of ours and I just had to stop by for a chat. She is an amazing person and I’m honored to share Becky’s top shelf with her.

My next few stops were with Aleatha Romig, Ivan Rusilko, and Jamie McGuire

They were all amazing!!!

I then had a special mission for one of my street teamers, Becky.

I needed to get all three books from C.J. Roberts

I saw a few more people and then was headed back to the room when I ended up in the same elevator as Kristin Ashley

She was an absolute doll and posed for pictures with my friends and I.

It was an event I’ll never forget and I’m honored to have met such amazing authors. My dream is to be among their ranks at Book Bash someday.
